– Officers from the Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters, while patrolling the A4 motorway, noticed the driver of a passenger Volkswagen who, where the speed limit was 110 km/h, accelerated his car to 184 km/h – reports junior officer Paweł Noga, from the Press Section of the Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters.

And he adds:

This reckless driving was stopped immediately, and the officers issued the 40-year-old resident of Złotoryja County with a PLN 5,000 fine. The high amount resulted from the new regulations and the provision concerning a second offence committed within two years. The driver stopped for inspection had also disregarded the speed limit in October last year, driving considerably faster. Therefore, during his second encounter with the officers, the fine was doubled, and 15 penalty points were added to the driver’s individual record.

And he adds:

Bearing this and other similar cases in mind, officers once again appeal for prudent and responsible driving and for observing speed limits. Let us recall that one of the main causes of road accidents is still failure to adjust speed to the conditions on the road.
