Twenty participants from 17 countries around the world, from Canada to Australia, came to Jakuszyce for the conference. Among the participants was also a Polish woman, Katarzyna Guzik, a world champion in roller-ski biathlon.
The International Biathlon Union (IBU) is an international non-governmental organisation bringing together 69 national biathlon federations. The Union was established on 2 July 1993 in London, and its headquarters are located in Salzburg, Austria. The federation manages:

- the Continental Championships,
- the IBU Cup (formerly the European Cup),
- the Junior and Youth World Championships,
- the Junior Continental Championships,
- the IBU Junior Cup,
- the Summer World Championships
The Lower Silesian Sports Centre is an important step towards the return to Poland and Lower Silesia of major international sporting events. National sports associations approach international federations regarding their organisation.
DCS is also an important step towards the return to Poland and Lower Silesia of major international sporting events, as its facilities can easily be adapted to host and run them. National sports associations approach international federations regarding their organisation. At the beginning of 2024, Polana Jakuszycka will host the European Junior Biathlon Championships.
