Officers from the Police Station in Kruszyn proved that the three suspects had committed seven crimes involving railway infrastructure. Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters:

Railway Protection Service officers caught the men, aged between 29 and 34, red-handed. The accomplices had begun digging in the middle of a forest in order to steal cable.

It turned out that the suspects had committed several similar crimes. County Police Headquarters:

Based on the evidence collected, police proved that the detainees had committed six cable thefts between 15 March and 7 May, as well as attempting to steal cable on the day of their arrest. The perpetrators went to the crime scenes on foot or hitchhiked, explaining that they had some work to do in the forest and therefore had shovels and tools with them.

The thieves stripped the insulation from the stolen cables and sold their loot at a non-ferrous metal scrap yard.

All three now face up to eight years in prison.
