Cooperation between Bolesławiec County and the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways was initiated by the starost Cezary Przybylski and the chairman of the County Council Karol Stasik. “The lack of directional signs for Bolesławiec is harming the city’s economy. Tourists do not stop here for rest or shopping. Restaurant owners suffer, and so do drivers when they realise they have passed the exit to the ceramics city,” says Stasik.

Under the agreement, the county authorities undertook to cover the cost of installing advance directional signs and directional signs around the Krzywa interchange along the A4 motorway. The county budget set aside PLN 130,000 for the installation of 11 signs. Drivers will see them by the motorway no later than the end of October.

“Thanks to our efforts, everyone travelling to Dresden and Berlin will benefit, as these cities will also appear on our signs,” says starost Cezary Przybylski.

In turn, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways undertook to install new advance directional signs and directional signs bearing the name Bolesławiec around the Bolesławiec interchange (along the A4 motorway, in the village of Łąka) and the Golnice interchange (along the A18 motorway). GDDKiA will install 28 signs there. The exits at Golnice will be signposted first, as early as the turn of August and September. We will have to wait a little longer for the signs at the exits in Łąka, which will be installed by the end of October.
