Criminal investigators from Bolesławiec and police officers from Kruszyn uncovered illegal electricity consumption at three locations. The Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters: – Employees of the power companies confirmed that the residents incurred no costs while using electrical appliances.
The officers explain:
The offenders created makeshift installations that provided them with a regular supply of electricity to their apartments. Various electrical appliances, including a water heater, were found in the rooms used by the suspects.
They add: – A resident of Warta Bolesławiecka municipality broke the seal on the meter’s main fuse. In the two other cases, no meters were found, and the wires had been connected in a makeshift manner, making it possible to draw electricity.
The offenders could face between three months and as many as five years in prison.
