– Last week, the duty officer at the Lwówek command received a report about an unusual discovery in Lwówek Śląski – reports Senior Sergeant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer of the local KPP.
She adds: – At the scene, officers established that while walking in a forested area, a woman had found an unexploded ordnance item from World War II that had been dug up. A police bomb technician determined that it was an artillery shell.
The officers secured the unexploded ordnance until soldiers from the Bolesławiec Bomb-Disposal Patrol arrived and transported the dangerous object to a training ground. There, the shell was neutralized.
