As reported by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways:

In the submitted documents, we indicated the preferred bypass variants (at the same time, GDDKiA submitted an application concerning the construction of the Milicz bypass – ed. istotne.pl). They are the result of designers’ work on the Technical, Economic and Environmental Study with elements of a program concept (STEŚ-R), as well as consultations with local governments and the local community. The documentation attached to the application included an investment information sheet. It contains a forecast of the bypass’s construction impact in terms of noise, air pollution and water quality, as well as other environmental components (plants, animals, climate, landscape, human health and life). The documentation identifies measures to minimize the investment’s environmental impact, including the location and parameters of animal crossings, acoustic protection, water protection systems and greenery planting.

What will the Legnica bypass route look like?

Road manager: – We indicated variant W2 as the preferred option (marked in blue on the map), taking into account the bypassing of the Piekary housing estate and Sikorskiego Street in Legnica.

The road manager adds:

The planned bypass begins near a roundabout on the existing provincial road No. 323, north of the Legnica interchange on the A4 motorway. At the beginning, the route heads southeast along Gniewomierska Street (DP2176D), passing through the Legnica Special Economic Zone. It crosses railway line No. 137 Katowice–Legnica and then changes direction northward, bypassing Bartoszów. Further on, the route enters the city of Legnica, crosses the county road, Koskowicka Street (DP2177D), and follows it eastward for a short distance. It then turns north and, crossing Legnicka Street (DP2178D), will connect to the existing DK94.

What will the total length of the bypass be?

Total length: approximately 8.7 km.
