The incident occurred during the night of March 22–23. Volunteer firefighters from Nowogrodziec:

(…) at around 2 a.m., we received a call about a fire involving a caravan in Nowogrodziec, on 1 Maja Street. Upon arriving at the scene, two objects were on fire: a caravan and a passenger car. We immediately began directing water at the source of the fire.

The firefighters added: – The assessment established that there was a gas cylinder inside the caravan.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and positioned at a safe distance, sheltered behind other vehicles, began cooling the cylinder, which was engulfed in flames.

The uniformed officers said: – After the fire was brought under control, the wreckage of the caravan was dismantled. The cylinder was checked with a thermal imaging camera and did not require further cooling. The fire was prevented from spreading to other vehicles and the outbuilding.

The operation lasted about an hour. It involved firefighters from Bolesławiec and two OSP units from Nowogrodziec, as well as the police.
