Officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec took action to verify the information after receiving a report that the tractor driver might be intoxicated. Their findings led them to the tractor driver's home. A vehicle whose engine was still warm was parked in the yard. A 39-year-old resident of Osiecznica municipality was inside the house.
The man had 3 per mille of alcohol in his system. He was detained. The officers' findings indicate that the suspect lost control of the tractor while driving and caused property damage.
In addition, the driver is subject to a court-imposed driving ban, which will remain in force for another 4 years.
The suspect faces up to 5 years in prison.
