The incident occurred on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at approximately 9:20 p.m., on the road between Osiecznica and Przejęsław.

According to findings by the Bolesławiec police, the driver of a Kia improperly passed a cyclist. The cyclist was unlit, which made it even more difficult to see them.
During the maneuver, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The Kia left the road and then hit a tree.
Emergency services at the scene
The incident looked serious, so several fire service units were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters from OSP Osiecznica, JRG Bolesławiec, OSP Ławszowa and OSP Przejęsław took part in the operation. Police officers also worked at the scene.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
The incident once again shows how important it is to exercise caution when driving after dark. Drivers should pay particular attention to unlit road users, while cyclists traveling on roads after dusk should ensure they have proper lighting and are visible.
