An event the whole of Poland will be talking about – leading figures of the rap scene will perform on one stage. A concert for true listeners whose hearts beat to the rhythm of classic beats. Verses that are never forgotten. Names that need no introduction.
PGE Turów Arena – the third stop on an exceptional concert tour
Winter Hip Hop Festival is an event that will remain in listeners’ memories for a long time. So far, two of the three officially confirmed concerts have taken place. After events in Wrocław and Zielona Góra, which attracted audiences from the farthest corners of Poland, it is time for Zgorzelec. Although all the concerts are held under a common banner, the event stands out for its great diversity.
The days when most of hip-hop artists’ discographies consisted of unofficial releases are gone forever. Today, rap reigns not only in hearts and on the streets – it occupies the top spots on the charts, earns gold records, and fills concert halls to capacity. Anyone who carefully follows the Polish music market realizes the enormous influence and reach of the latest hip-hop productions.
The organizers of the winter tour did not miss this fact – the lineup indicates that they have taken the latest trends into account. More than twenty artists representing every trend and offshoot of Polish rap: from classic neighborhood verses, through horrorcore and drill, to club R&B. Winter Hip Hop Festival is pulling out all the stops, bringing the biggest names in the Polish rap game to its stages. The first two concerts were dominated by representatives of the new wave. Who will we hear in Zgorzelec?
The quintessence of Polish rap. An exceptional concert in Zgorzelec: O.S.T.R, Słoń, Polska Wersja.
If you belong to the generation for whom skills and a strong message are the most important things in rap, do not wait any longer. On 18 March 2023, a concert that could go down in cultural history will take place at PGE Turów Arena in Zgorzelec. The event will be hosted by TeTris, and as many as eight artists will perform.
Paktofonika – a legend of the Polish hip-hop scene, regarded as one of the most important representatives of Polish rap. After 20 years of silence, the Katowice group is resuming concerts. Rahim and Fokus, together with a Special Guest, will fire up the audience, reminding everyone that “Chwile ulotne” and “Jestem Bogiem” deservedly rank among the evergreen classics of Polish rap.
Guzior – His distinctive voice, characteristic “lazy” flow and trap sound have an almost hypnotic effect, attracting listeners and earning further awards and record numbers of plays on streaming platforms.
Polska Wersja – One of the most influential crews representing classic neighborhood rap at the highest level. Their powerful, honest message has secured them a permanent place among the leaders of the Polish rap game and a host of loyal listeners.
Słoń – A leading representative and at the same time a pioneer of the horrorcore trend, his brutal, blunt and uncompromising lyrics led to collaborations with artists such as Pih, Trzeci Wymiar and Paluch.
O.S.T.R – the undisputed king of freestyle, whose work proves that powerful lyrics and a meaningful message are the keys to success. With every new production, the Łódź rapper earns recognition from both audiences and critics.
Afgan – A 23-year-old rapper from Lubin, for whom the concerts on the Winter Hip Hop Festival tour are an opportunity to promote his latest album. The artist, making his debut before a wider audience, is well known on the local scene, among other things for “59-300 Project”, produced by DJ Creon, with verses delivered by Oki, also from Lubin. At the Zgorzelec show, he will meet Girson, who comes from the same city and with whom he has collaborated on various projects.
Remek BRG – although his age places him among the young generation of performers, he bases his work on strongly old-school beats, breaking the convention with a somewhat trap-influenced sound. He clearly draws on the classics of Polish rap, uncompromisingly addressing the harsh realities of everyday life in his lyrics
