Officers from the Criminal Division of the Bolesławiec Police determined the circumstances of, and identified the perpetrator responsible for, the theft of a bicycle from a utility room in a tenement building. First, a resident of Warta Bolesławiecka commune was arrested. The 21-year-old, while visiting one of the residents of the multi-family building, spotted a bicycle in the attic. He subsequently stole it. The losses were estimated at nearly PLN 2,000.
The police findings showed that the property obtained through the crime had been handed over to another person, who helped conceal it. Ultimately, the criminal investigators recovered the bicycle and returned it to its owner.
Two people were charged in the case: the 21-year-old perpetrator of the theft and a 25-year-old receiver of stolen goods.
Both suspects face up to 5 years in prison.
