On this special day, BOK-MCC will be filled with feminine energy, which certainly does not mean that men are not welcome. Women’s Day at BOK-MCC is a great opportunity to see an exhibition presenting the work of Joanna Grabowska, who began her adventure with painting in 2019. Currently, she experiments with many different styles, combining them and observing new ones. In her work, she loves colours, but also greys, which have predominated in her recent pieces.

Another offering is the painting of female students of the University of the Third Age in Bolesławiec, who have the opportunity during weekly meetings to pursue their passions and interests in art, as well as develop their skills in various artistic techniques. We will be able to see works with a very individual and feminine character.

We announce a provocative, sensual atmosphere and a feminine, inspiring flow. In addition, we propose the outdoor exhibition “Defiant Women 1976–1989”, about women involved in opposition activities. The story of their socio-political activism is told through photographs, documents and portraits of selected female opposition activists representing various stages of their activities.

The artistic setting for the event will be arranged by instructors from the dance studios operating at the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre. Magdalena Zientara will perform with the flamenco dance studio, and Idalia Kowara-Szmidt with the oriental dance studio. A lottery and prizes prepared by the Winestone restaurant in Bolesławiec and Bowling Bolesławiec are planned for all women taking part in the event.

The opening of the exhibitions prepared for Women’s Day will take place on 9 March in the foyer of the Forum cinema at 5:00 p.m.. The exhibitions will be available until 31 March 2023.
