The March session of the Bolesławiec City Council is underway. Before the proceedings began, however, the new councilor took the oath – Agnieszka Słota.
Let us recall. In February, the Jelenia Góra II election commissioner Michał Chudzik announced:
It is decided that the vacant mandate in electoral district no. 4, applicable to the election of the Bolesławiec City Council, shall be assumed by Ms Agnieszka Monika SŁOTA – a candidate from list no. 17 – KWW PIOTRA ROMANA BEZPARTYJNI, who in the elections held on 21 October 2018 received the next-highest number of votes, and has neither lost the right to be elected nor waived priority to assume the mandate.
At the end of January, we reported that the Jelenia Góra election commissioner had announced that, “following the judgment of the District Court in Bolesławiec dated 1 March 2022, case no. II K 504/20, amended by the judgment of the Regional Court in Jelenia Góra dated 9 January 2023, case no. VI Ka 273/22, the mandate of the councilor of the Urban Municipality of Bolesławiec elected in electoral district no. 4 from list no. 17 submitted by KWW PIOTRA ROMANA BEZPARTYJNI expired on 9 January 2023. The councilor whose mandate expired is Dariusz Wiesław FILISTYŃSKI”.
We added at the time that priority to assume the mandate belonged to the person who, from the same list and in the same district in which the aforementioned councilor ran, achieved the next-best election result. That person is Karolina Prosół, the current head of the Municipal Social Welfare Center in Bolesławiec.
As it turned out, K. Prosół did not assume the mandate. (Had she done so, she would have had to resign from her position.)
