The incident took place on February 12. – During a patrol on Mirska Street, Lwówek Śląski police officers noticed a passenger Mercedes traveling at high speed. The officers signaled for the driver to stop. However, he ignored the signals from the police car and began to flee – reports Senior Sergeant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer of the County Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski.

The officers immediately gave chase, continuously using their lights and siren to order him to stop. The driver did not respond and continued driving dangerously, disregarding other road users. A Gryfów Śląski police patrol joined the operation.

The chase lasted several minutes, after which the man abandoned the vehicle off the road and fled on foot, leaving two frightened girls, aged 5 and 15, whom he had been transporting, in a wooded area. Fortunately, nothing happened to them.

The fugitive was arrested shortly afterward. It then emerged that by getting behind the wheel, he had violated a lifetime ban on driving. Moreover, he was under the influence of drugs.

The extremely irresponsible 30-year-old now faces up to five years in prison.
