On Friday, 3 February, first thing in the morning, a custody hearing was held at the District Court in Legnica at the prosecutor’s request. The court remanded the 39-year-old man in custody for three months. Two days earlier, he had stabbed a police officer who was intervening against him.
The attack on the officer took place on Wednesday, 1 February, at around 6 p.m., on Prusa Street in Legnica. – Police officers from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica were carrying out official duties there involving a man suspected of possibly possessing narcotic substances, explains junior aspirant Anna Tersa of the Legnica police.
She adds:
When he saw the police officers, the man began to flee and did not respond to their commands at all. After a brief pursuit, during the attempt to subdue him, the man suddenly pulled out a knife and began stabbing the officer.
The knifeman was arrested and placed in police custody, while the injured officer was taken to hospital.

Under the law, the suspect faces up to 15 years in prison for the crimes he committed.
