Officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec arrested the perpetrator of a shop theft who, after seeing a shop employee’s actions, abandoned his loot.

Investigators had also previously identified the 22-year-old as a suspect in criminal incidents that occurred over the past month in Nowogrodziec municipality.
In total, the man has five property-related offences to his name. The suspect was charged, among other things, with two shop thefts and the theft of a chainsaw worth PLN 600. (The property was recovered and handed over to its owner.)

Moreover, officers proved that in the final days of 2022 the perpetrator had stolen two bicycles left outside a shop and a gas grill from an outbuilding. In both cases, after seeing the reaction of the victims and bystanders to his criminal behaviour, the thief abandoned the stolen items.
The 22-year-old now faces up to five years in prison.
