On Sunday, July 4, the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity performed throughout Bolesławiec County and in Lubań. 40 volunteers collected money to purchase firefighting equipment. The fundraiser was conducted with the assistance of local fire service units.
The committee also organized an event in Bolesławiec’s Market Square. The following performers appeared on stage: Aleksandra Sozańska-Kut, Joel Beucher and the band Engines of Creation. The sound system and technical support were provided by the Stanisław Wyspiański Youth Cultural Centre.
The fire service, PWiK and MOSiR prepared many attractions. The youngest participants had a great time in the bouncy castle, on the trampoline and at the shooting range. The Market Square turned into an arena of spontaneous fun. There was wild dancing and an “escape” from the fire engine from Parowa and its water cannon. The firefighters “drove” the volunteers along the square, effectively cooling them down on this exceptionally hot day.
The collection ended at 7:00 p.m. The Bolesławiec committee collected PLN 21,700. Nationwide, more than PLN 904,000 was collected.
