It is worth recalling that in 2022, the Bolesławiec City Council adopted a resolution on awarding grants from the city budget totalling PLN 500,000. Four applications that met the formal and substantive requirements were selected for funding. Applications for the renovation of the historic tenement houses were submitted by housing communities. The fourth application, submitted by the Polish Province of the Piarist Order, concerned the renovation of the façade of the gymnasium hall at 10 Bankowa Street. The grants concerned the renovation of the façades of the tenement houses at: 6 Kubika Street, 7 Kubika Street and 8/9 Kubika Street.
The renovation work was carried out under the supervision of the Provincial Conservator of Historic Monuments. Grants to co-finance renovation work on buildings entered in the register of historic monuments have been awarded since 2005. In each case, the applications concerned a building of high historical and cultural value. Conservation work on these buildings is consistently aimed at restoring the earlier architectural form, artistic value and utility of parts of the buildings that have been damaged or altered. Thanks to grants from the city budget, more buildings in Bolesławiec are regaining their former splendour.
