– Belief in the omnipotence of a city mayor, who can ban and regulate everything in the city, can sometimes be uplifting (though sometimes the opposite). Only nationwide regulations, combined with effective enforcement, can change the situation. But I do not think anyone in power is interested. It is easier to shift the blame, for example onto Trzaskowski, saying that he issued a ban and people still set them off. In other words, both sides will be satisfied. Civic Platform, because they issued a ban; Law and Justice, because those from Civic Platform were unable to make it effective. According to the mayor, bans that cannot be enforced are ineffective and only lead to demoralization and a lack of respect for the law.
– Pet owners are left to deal with their animals. I once had a dog, and it coped very badly with New Year’s Eve. Great respect is due, for example, to OBI, which has not sold fireworks for four years now – the mayor adds.
