On Thursday, December 29, a press conference was held at the Bolesławiec market square, attended by Civic Platform MP Piotr Borys and head of the local Civic Platform structures, Karol Stasik.

Karol Stasik on local Civic Platform structures:

We are currently rebuilding the structures. At this point, we have four local branches, and a fifth is under construction. Two more branches are still ahead of us. We want Civic Platform to have its structures in every municipality of Bolesławiec County (...). Every municipality is important. Why do we want to establish one in every municipality? Because we intend to field representatives in elections to all local government bodies, and I also think that we will find candidates for the Sejm and the Senate.

In a further part of his speech, Stasik spoke about the campaign to collect signatures for a bill on state funding of in vitro treatment. Around 1,000 signatures were collected for the bill. He also appealed for people to join Civic Platform:

We were surprised that people supported this bill so strongly. During the 3–4 days I spent collecting signatures, it happened that three people objected, including one local priest. So we can say it was a complete success. We significantly exceeded the number set for us. This fills us with optimism for the future.

(...) I would also like to appeal to the residents of Bolesławiec to join the structures of Civic Platform. I am thinking not only of the city’s residents, but also of the county’s residents (...) I warmly invite you, especially young people.

At the end of his speech, Karol Stasik extended New Year’s wishes to all residents of Bolesławiec County. For the New Year, he wished them stability, no inflation and a Civic Platform government.
