Councillor Urszula Magryś wrote in an open letter that she and her fellow Civic Platform members in Bolesławiec are disappointed by the leniency with which the party leadership treats the opposition. She addressed the letter to Lower Silesian MPs and Members of Parliament from PO and KO: Zofia Czernow, Piotr Borys, Robert Kropiwnicki, Monika Wielichowska, Michał Jaros, Iwona Krawczyk and Łukasz Horbatowski.
– It is not enough to be better. You have to be effective – Urszula Magryś wrote in the letter Urszula Magryś.
So let us check what the councillor did in Bolesławiec as opposition to Mayor Piotr Roman, who is as nonpartisan as President Nawrocki is civic.
- Did the councillor address the attack by hooligans on the LGBT community at the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival in 2024?
No. - Did she point out that Mayor Piotr Roman has never condemned the hooligans?
No. - Did she take an interest in the safety of LGBT people at this year's ceramic festival, should they want to visit it again?
No. - Did she protest at a council session against the display of a banner showing a torn human fetus in Bolesławiec's market square, whose presence in public space is tolerated by Mayor Piotr Roman despite convictions being handed down?
No. - Did she publicly support legal abortion up to 12 weeks of pregnancy in Bolesławiec?
No. - Did she react to the fact that the mayor does not provide public information and maliciously extends the deadlines for responding to such requests?
No. - Did she ask the mayor a single question at a council session about the matters mentioned above?
No.
That is why, Councillor Magryś! Your inaction, leniency and political blindness to residents' concerns are behind Trzaskowski's defeat, Civic Platform's weakness and voters' disappointment.
It is the residents of Bolesławiec who are disappointed that they voted for you. You are the one who does not listen to your voters. You are responsible for the lack of accountability, for Kowalski and Matecki being able to mock us with impunity, while Bąkiewicz walks along the border with the hooligans and you merely sigh in indignation.
