The first to arrive at the scene was the Military Fire Service in Świętoszów. Firefighting units from Osiecznica, Ławszowa, Przejęsław and Bolesławiec arrived afterward.

Most likely, a structural element of the building—a ceiling beam near the chimney—caught fire from the stove. When the firefighters arrived, the building was heavily smoke-filled.

The firefighters cut out part of the ceiling and extinguished the fire. Fortunately, no one was injured. Three people had left the building earlier.
