Officers from the Criminal Division of Police Station I in Jelenia Góra detained a 70-year-old resident of Lubin. Police determined that, after her partner’s death, the woman repeatedly used his payment card and withdrew a total of over PLN 40,000 from his account. The crimes were committed in Jelenia Góra in March this year. It turned out that the 70-year-old used the card 46 times.
When the victim’s family realized that money had disappeared from his account, they notified the police. The deceased man’s relatives suspected that his former partner was responsible for these acts. Their suspicion was confirmed by surveillance camera footage secured by the officers.
The police are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the case in detail. The woman will face trial for the crimes of which she is suspected, and she could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
