Police officers from Bolesławiec invited officers from the Traffic Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław, together with a drone, to the county area. Final-year students, including those from the Building Schools Complex, had the opportunity to see the drone in action and learn how and for what purposes this equipment is used by the Lower Silesian Police.
The unmanned aircraft, equipped with a high-quality camera, makes it possible to monitor and record the behaviour of drivers who violate traffic regulations.
Young people are very familiar with technological innovations, so, in order to promote the profession and encourage them to join the service, Bolesławiec police officers organised an educational meeting for final-year students. In just a few months, the young people will be making important career decisions. The students also learned what training, acquired as part of professional development, is completed by the police officers who operate the drone.
Due to winter road conditions and the fact that some of the meeting participants already hold driving licences, part of the meeting was devoted to education about proper driving technique and safe behaviour on slippery surfaces.
Road traffic monitoring in Bolesławiec County using a drone has also been planned for the coming months.
