The incident occurred on 1 December in the evening. – The duty officer received a report of a fire in one of the garden sheds at the allotment gardens in Gryfów Śląski. A police patrol immediately went to the scene. It included officers who, in their spare time, also serve in the Volunteer Fire Service in Lubomierz – reports Senior Sergeant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski. – The information they received indicated that there were pigeons and a rabbit inside.

The situation did not look good because the shed fire had developed significantly. Despite this, the officer decided to go inside and rescue the animals.

The fire was spreading, but at least one animal’s life was saved. The spokeswoman: – Despite the thick smoke, the police officer spotted a rabbit in a cage, pulled it out and then handed it over to its owner, who had arrived at the scene.
