A tragic incident occurred on December 5. – Before 7:00 a.m., the duty officer at the Zgorzelec police headquarters received a report of a pedestrian being struck on one of the streets in Opolno-Zdrój – says Commissioner Agnieszka Goguł, press officer for the Commander of the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec.
She adds:
At the scene, under the supervision of a prosecutor, officers from the Road Traffic Division of the Zgorzelec police headquarters, a forensic technician and an expert in the reconstruction of road accidents were working.
According to the officers’ preliminary findings, a 30-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County, driving a Kia, struck a 46-year-old man who was crossing the roadway at an unauthorized location. Unfortunately, the pedestrian died at the scene.
