As forum user Xyz commented:

That road there by the bridge, and beyond the bridge, is a tragedy for pedestrians. An exit from the motorway, lots of trucks, constant traffic. And, in addition, pedestrians on the verges. It is not difficult for a tragedy to happen there.

Police on the incident:

On December 1 after 7:00 a.m., police officers received a report that an unconscious man had been found on the roadway in Szczytnica, outside a built-up area, near the exit to the A4 motorway.

The traffic police patrol that arrived at the scene first began resuscitation efforts. It then handed the victim over to medical services. Unfortunately, the man could not be saved.

Police officers are currently taking steps to clarify the circumstances of the incident in detail. Preliminary findings indicate that the pedestrian was most likely struck by a heavy goods vehicle. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of the 71-year-old’s injuries and to establish the pedestrian’s contribution to the accident.

Officers from Bolesławiec are looking for witnesses to the incident in which a 71-year-old man died. Anyone with any information about the case is asked to contact the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec at 47 87 33 200 or 201..
