The incident occurred on Friday, 18 November. Volunteer firefighters from Krzyżowa:
(…) at 9:58 p.m., we were dispatched to a passenger-car fire at the Lipiany MOP. While searching the MOP, it turned out that the incident had occurred at kilometre 63 of the A18 toward Berlin.
They added:
Upon our unit's arrival at the scene, the report was confirmed and firefighters began extinguishing the vehicle, which was completely engulfed in flames.
The passenger car was completely destroyed by fire. The fire was extinguished. Firefighters from Krzyżowa and Trzebień, as well as the police, took part in the operation. The police are determining the cause of the incident.
