On Friday, June 18, a triple ceremony was held in the gymnasium of the Complex of General and Vocational Schools in Bolesławiec. The school year ended for second-year students of the basic vocational school training as small-catering cooks. Laura Słocka-Przydróżna, director of ZSOiZ, addressed the young cooks: – Over these two years, we have worked together to overcome various difficulties. Your ideas about learning and life were often difficult to accept. Nevertheless, we always tried to support you in pursuing your dreams and plans. With all our hearts, we wish you the ability to prove to everyone that you possess the knowledge and skills that will allow you to enter adult life.
Among those attending the ceremony were Deputy District Governor Stanisław Chwojnicki and member of the Bolesławiec County Board Dariusz Kwaśniewski. – I wish you would remember only good memories from school and have no trouble finding work in Poland, – the deputy governor said.
Europass Mobility certificates were also presented that day. They went to students of the technical school training as economic technicians, who completed an internship in Chemnitz, Germany, in March this year. This was the second group of ZSOiZ students to have the opportunity to go on an internship in Germany. Another group will travel to Chemnitz in March 2011.
The ceremony was also an opportunity to honor students who could boast academic achievements. The event was enhanced by performances from students of the school. Jarosław Kojder recited Marian Załucki’s text “Millennium Before the Mirror,” while Paulina Krysztofiak sang “Orła cień” by Varius Manx and “Hallelujah” from Leonard Cohen’s repertoire.
