– Last weekend, an officer of the Traffic Department of the Bolesławiec police unit, returning from duty after 10 p.m., stopped an intoxicated driver – reports Staff Aspirant Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters.
She explains: – While driving his own car, the police officer noticed a vehicle in the middle of the road. He stopped to check whether something had happened. A drunk man was sitting behind the wheel. The officer took the keys and called a patrol to the scene.
It turned out that the 47-year-old resident of Warta Bolesławiecka Municipality was driving with more than 3.5 per mille of alcohol in his system. The driver’s licence was immediately confiscated; he may lose it for several years.
That was not all. The vehicle did not have the mandatory insurance or a valid inspection. (This means financial consequences for the detained man).
The 47-year-old now faces up to two years in prison.
