As we read on the website of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways:

Meetings for residents will continue until 23 November 2022. Residents of 21 municipalities through which the A4 and S5 route variants developed as part of the Technical, Economic and Environmental Study (STEŚ) pass are invited. Let us recall that during the first round of meetings, held in the first quarter of this year, we collected comments and requests regarding the designers’ initial proposals. Now we will present the results of the public feedback.

What are the objectives of the investment?

Road authority: – The main objective of the investment is to expand the A4 motorway into a dual-carriageway road with three lanes in each direction and to build a new dual-carriageway, two-lane section of the S5 expressway. This will improve transport accessibility in Lower Silesia, which will generate an increase in business investment in the area.

And adds: – The economic and territorial cohesion of the macroregion will be ensured. The development of transport, forwarding and logistics services will accelerate. Residents’ mobility will increase, thereby contributing to the development of various forms of tourism. Traffic volumes on existing roads will decrease as they take over transit traffic, improving living conditions for residents in the region. Traffic safety on the national road network will also improve. At the same time, the region’s economic activity will create new jobs and contribute to the development of existing Special Economic Zones.
