– Police officers from the Zgorzelec SPEED group of the Traffic Department, while on duty in Zawidów, stopped the driver of a Volkswagen for a roadside check. The officers knew the man from previous official proceedings – reports asp. Aleksandra Pieprzycka of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
She adds:
After checking the available databases, the officers confirmed that the 36-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County had two court-imposed driving bans, for which he had served a prison sentence.
As the detained man was behaving suspiciously, the officers tested him with a drug tester. It turned out that the extremely irresponsible driver was under the influence of methamphetamine. He also had a bag containing the substance on him.
The spokesperson: – Wanting to avoid responsibility for the crimes he had committed, the 36-year-old tried to bribe the police officers, offering them PLN 1,500 to refrain from carrying out the official activities involving him. Thus, he committed another crime.
The 36-year-old now faces up to 10 years in prison.
