On Thursday, June 10, the national Samsung Athletic Cup tournament was held in Łódź. Paula Kowalik, a student of Gimnazjum Samorządowego nr 2 in Bolesławiec and an athlete representing MKS Bolesłavia, performed excellently in the competition. The young long jumper won a bronze medal. Paula was just one centimetre behind the second-place competitor, while she missed out on gold by only... 7 cm!
The result (5.34 m) is a new personal best for our athlete. The Bolesławiec athlete received her medal from Irena Szewińska. The bronze medallist’s coach is Małgorzata Markowska.
The GS No. 2 team from Bolesławiec also put in a very good performance (the team consisted of: Ewa Ochocka, Honorata Polak, Patrycja Drążkiewicz and Paula Kowalik). Our relay team took third place with a time of 51.72 seconds.
The girls were awarded their medals by the well-known athlete Marcin Urbaś. The team’s supervisor is Tomasz Markowski.
