The alert level is in force from October 6, 2022, at 00:00, until November 30, 2022, at 23:59. We also remind you that the second alert level (BRAVO) and the third CRP alert level (CHARLIE–CRP) remain in force throughout the country. The alert levels will remain in force until November 30, 2022, at 23:59.

The Prime Minister introduces alert levels under the provisions of the Act of June 10, 2016, on counterterrorism activities.

The second BRAVO alert level is preventive in nature and is related to the current geopolitical situation in the region, including in Ukraine. The CRP alert level, meanwhile, was introduced to counter threats in cyberspace arising from the same circumstances.

BRAVO is the second level on the four-level alert scale and may be introduced when there is an increased and foreseeable threat of a terrorist incident, although no specific target of the attack has been identified.

The CHARLIE–CRP level concerns cyberspace security and is the third of the four alert levels specified in the Act on counterterrorism activities. This level is introduced when an incident occurs confirming a likely target of a terrorist attack in cyberspace, or when credible information is obtained about a planned incident. This alert level also covers the entire country.

Alert levels are primarily a signal to the services responsible for security and to the entire public administration to exercise particular vigilance.

The tasks of state authorities related to introducing alert levels are set out in the Prime Minister’s regulation of July 25, 2016, on the scope of measures carried out under the individual alert levels and CRP alert levels. In the case of the BRAVO level, these tasks include, among others:

  • increased control of large gatherings by the Police, Border Guard or Military Police;
  • increased control of public-use facilities and other facilities that could potentially become targets of terrorist attacks;
    ensuring the availability, on an alert basis, of personnel designated to implement procedures for responding to a terrorist incident;
  • warning personnel of possible threats;
  • the obligation for uniformed officers or soldiers directly carrying out tasks related to securing places and facilities that could potentially become targets of a terrorist incident to carry long firearms and bulletproof vests;
  • additional checks of vehicles, people and public buildings in threatened areas;
  • strengthening the protection of public transport and important public facilities;
  • introducing bans on unauthorized persons entering preschools, schools and universities.

Under the CHARLIE-CRP alert level, the tasks include, in particular:

  • 24-hour duty coverage by administrators of systems critical to the organization’s functioning and personnel authorized to make decisions concerning the security of these systems,
  • reviewing resources in terms of their possible use in the event of an attack,
  • preparing to activate plans that will ensure continuity of operations after a potential attack, including the rapid and trouble-free shutdown of servers.

While the alert level is in force, particular attention should be paid to all unusual situations and potential threats, such as unusually behaving individuals; packages, bags or backpacks left unattended in public places; and cars, especially commercial vehicles, parked near gathering places.

Safety while the alert level is in force depends not only on the actions of the relevant services, but also on the preparedness of administrators of public-use facilities, who are required to carry out increased checks, as well as on citizens’ vigilance.

Do not disregard any information about a threat! Immediately notify the services by calling 112.
