Police officers from the Bolesławiec Police Headquarters received a report of the misappropriation of an envelope containing money. The victim accidentally left cash on the counter at a petrol station. When she realized it, the envelope was gone.
CCTV quickly helped determine who had taken the property belonging to someone else. It was a 73-year-old resident of Bolesławiec who refuelled at the same station several minutes after the woman.
The suspect was charged with misappropriation of property. The recovered money will be returned to its rightful owner.
Misappropriation is punishable by up to 3 years' imprisonment.
