Road investments are one of Bolesławiec County’s hallmarks. For many years, the county has successfully invested in the county-road network, improving its technical condition and increasing the safety of its users. The latest example is the nearly one-kilometre section of the Bożejowice–Otok county road, which many residents of both localities had been eagerly awaiting.
As part of the reconstruction, the uneven and noisy granite-cobblestone surface was replaced with an asphalt road featuring a convenient pedestrian and cycle path. The verges were also reconstructed and roadside ditches cleared. The project also covered five intersections, three bus stops and the maintenance of one bridge.
The modernised section not only improves safety and comfort for its users, but also significantly reduces noise levels, which is particularly important for residents whose homes are located directly alongside the road.
Bolesławiec County is consistently reconstructing the Bolesławiec–Lubań road. In 2020, the reconstruction of three sections was completed: Bolesławiec–Bożejowice, Ocice–Gościszów and Gościszów–Mściszów, with a combined length of more than 3,860 m. The reconstruction of further sections is planned for the future.
It is worth noting that the project was carried out with substantial external funding. The county obtained PLN 3,200,000 from the Government Road Development Fund. In addition, Bolesławiec Municipality contributed PLN 1,250,972.65, while the remaining PLN 1,250,972.65 was paid from Bolesławiec County funds. The construction work was carried out by Usługi Remontowo-Budowlane i Transport Józef Michalik.
Before construction began, Bolesławiec Municipality and Bolesławiec County each covered half of the PLN 110,000 cost of preparing the design documentation.
