The incident occurred on the night of September 12–13 this year. At around 1:30 a.m., police officers went to one of the gas stations in Jelenia Góra, where, according to the report, an intoxicated man was causing a disturbance and threatening to kill an employee—reports Assistant Inspector Edyta Bagrowska, press officer for the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra.

She adds:

At the scene, officers found the person who had made the report, who informed them that a man had arrived at the station wanting to buy a hot dog, but the order could not be fulfilled because maintenance work was underway. The man became angry and began threatening the employee with death, then left.

The police obtained a description of the aggressor and spotted the suspect several streets away. When he saw the police car, he tried to hide in a nearby building. It did not help much. The 42-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra was arrested.

The hungry man was drunk, with 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his system. He was detained to sober up. He now faces up to two years in prison.
