Recently, our city was once again widely discussed throughout Poland. This was because of a recording showing two men engaging in substance-related excesses on Dolne Młyny Street in Bolesławiec. We asked, among others, Bolesławiec municipal officers whether this problem could somehow be solved.
Kamila Chalewicz-Pudłowska, commander of the Municipal Police in Bolesławiec:
The Municipal Police in Bolesławiec informs us that it intervenes in response to reports concerning people disturbing the peace and public order. At the same time, we point out that recently, specifically from 01/08/2022 to 11/09/2022, the duty officer received four reports concerning people lying at the bus stop on Dolne Młyny Street, near the PKS bus station. In one case, the report was not confirmed; in the remaining three cases, homeless people were found at the site and official actions were taken, as a result of which they left the area.
She adds:
During every intervention involving homeless people, municipal officers inform them about the possibilities of receiving help. However, each time these people refuse any assistance because of addictions that they do not want to fight. In cases where their lives are at risk, an ambulance is called to the scene and provides them with the necessary medical assistance.
