After a detailed inspection of all rooms and the installations in the building, no gas leak was found that could have been the cause of the smell detected at the facility. As there was no danger, the emergency response was concluded after the rooms were ventilated. The students returned to their classrooms.

The probable cause of the incident and the resulting evacuation was an unknown substance poured into a manhole, which may have emitted a distinctive smell.
Let us recall. The incident occurred on Thursday, 8 September, at the General and Vocational Schools Complex in Lwówek Śląski. As reported by lwowek24.pl, at around 8:20 a.m., students and staff were evacuated from the school:
(…) these are not routine drills held every year to prepare students and teachers to respond appropriately in an emergency. Preliminary information indicates that a gas detector detected 80% gas in the air.
Firefighters from Lwówek and the gas emergency service were at the scene.
