During Wednesday’s session, one of the councillors mentioned receiving reports from people that American soldiers arriving in our county buy lower-quality cars. Then, when they return to their homeland, they simply abandon them here.
The result? Wrecks that later scare people and are stripped for parts. Sometimes someone takes a fancy to the registration plates and then installs them on their own vehicle. Later, they use a car with fake plates to commit crimes, such as stealing fuel.
Piotr Roman said that the City of Bolesławiec wants to establish a permanent group responsible for the flow of information between the local government and visitors from the USA. He added that this issue would also be discussed.
