In a report by polsatnews.pl, among others, Edyta and Kazimierz Gargulińscy, who have run an organic farm in the village of Osła for almost twenty years, speak about the incident. This is how they recall the day the fire broke out. – Everything was covered in smoke. I could taste aluminium; I can still taste it in my mouth, said Mr Kazimierz. – In the morning, when I got up, it was one huge smog cloud. Just utter despair. When it all settled on those trees, those leaves, on my garden… I thought it was the end, that my organic farming and all my dreams of living in a clean place were over, added Ms Edyta.

In a conversation with Polsat News journalists, Mr Kazimierz admitted that his farm is experiencing a crisis, as nothing can be sold:

My friends are already starting to joke about whether my tomatoes are red or smoked… It is laughter through tears, except that right now we do not even know what we are eating. We really do not, because we do not know what was in that landfill.

Łucja Słota Stolz, who runs an agritourism business, warns: – All those dioxins and other substances released when plastic burns are simply carcinogenic. And it does not have to happen tomorrow or the day after tomorrow; it may be in two years or five. It will affect children and pregnant women, and children who have not yet been born.

In a conversation with the nationwide media outlet, the newly elected head of Gromadka Municipality, Ryszard Kawka, announced that the local government would support local entrepreneurs.

The report also included statements by Piotr Małecki of the “Nasza Wieś” Association in Różyniec:

They simply brought us a pile of rubbish here. We drew attention to it, but nobody wanted to listen to us. We wrote to everyone, officially; we have evidence of all this.

Representatives of Prodigo refused to give “Interwencja” journalists an interview on camera. The editorial office received only a statement by email, saying that the company is currently clarifying “the circumstances of this tragedy, carefully analysing all known and available (...) facts.” Details at polsatnews.pl.
