Over the course of two days in August, officers from the Bolesławiec traffic unit checked as many as 1,017 drivers. District Police Headquarters:

During the operation, officers detected 34 traffic violations, seized 6 vehicle registration certificates, thereby removing technically defective vehicles from the roads, and confiscated 2 driving licences.

On Sunday, officers detained a 41-year-old man from Bolesławiec who got behind the wheel with nearly 2.5 parts per mille of alcohol in his system. The resident of the City of Ceramics lost his driving licence. He now faces up to two years in prison.

Moreover, on Monday traffic officers detained a 24-year-old man who was driving a Volkswagen while under the influence of alcohol (nearly 0.5 parts per mille in his exhaled air). He also lost his driving licence, but since this still constitutes a misdemeanour, he faces arrest, a fine of no less than PLN 2,500, and a driving ban.

Police:

We appeal for common sense, prudence and caution when driving any vehicle.
