I LO in Bolesławiec:
FAREWELL, PROFESSOR! FAREWELL, FRIEND!
Edward Florków has passed away. A teacher, mentor, history and social studies educator. And although these words are very broad, it is difficult to describe a professional journey that began at our school in 1988 and ended with such a premature departure. Necessarily, this will be only an outline, a fresh memory, a reflection on Someone who, while teaching history, was also creating the history of the school.
Energy, a sense of humor, and empathy for young people—these are the qualities that numerous generations of graduates will remember. On the other hand, immense knowledge, the ability to explain historical processes, and attentiveness to the complexities of the modern world—this was the passion with which Mr. Florków inspired young people. It was thanks to His motivation that they won accolades in history competitions and olympiads, mainly those concerning contemporary Poland, the European Union, human rights, or even knowledge about the police. He taught young people the values of democracy, organized primary elections and debates, and took them to parliamentary meetings… he was a teacher whose work did not end when the bell rang. He understood young people, supported them, entertained them, and always proudly said goodbye to successive graduating classes of which he had been the Form Tutor.
He was supposed to return to work after a serious illness…
Dorota, Darek, and the Entire Family—please accept our condolences
