On 17–21 August this year, police officers carried out 255 interventions and checked 655 people. Senior Sergeant Agnieszka Skoczypiec from the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters: – Police officers detained 9 wanted people who had evaded a sentence imposed by the Court, as well as two drivers who had been driving cars under the influence of alcohol. Twelve people possessing substances prohibited by law were detained.
On Sunday, officers caught a 41-year-old resident of Bolesławiec who was driving a car with nearly 2.5 per mille of alcohol in his system. The man lost his driving licence and faces up to two years in prison.
Our traffic police worked to ensure road safety, carrying out 142 checks over the holiday weekend. The officers recorded 92 offences and confiscated the driving licences of three people. A driver who exceeded the speed limit in a built-up area also lost his licence. – There was also a daredevil who drove a car without the required licence – the spokeswoman added. – There were 14 road incidents on the district’s roads.
Bolesławiec police:
The Ceramic Festival in Bolesławiec attracted a huge number of participants, which also resulted in increased traffic on district roads. Despite such heavy traffic, we recorded no serious road incidents.
