In addition, he will also be held liable under the Code of Petty Offences for disturbing the peace.

The incident occurred on August 10, 2022, at approximately 7:00 p.m., on one of the city buses. The man was travelling with his partner and their child in a stroller. As the bus went around a bend, the stroller moved and then tipped over. Fortunately, the child was not injured, but the situation provoked the father’s aggression. The man damaged the driver’s cabin and assaulted the driver, then left together with his partner.

After being notified of the incident, officers began searching for the man suspected of aggressive behaviour on the bus. On August 11, the day the report of the crime was filed, officers detained the man suspected of damaging property and assaulting the driver.

That day, at approximately 2:15 p.m., a policewoman from Police Station I in Jelenia Góra, returning home after her shift and travelling along Wojska Polskiego Street in Jelenia Góra, recognised the man recorded by the cameras on the bus. He was walking with his partner and child. The officer notified her colleagues, who immediately arrived at the scene and detained the suspect. He turned out to be a 21-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra.

The man was placed in police custody. He will now face court for the offences of which he is suspected, and he could face up to five years in prison. Today, procedural activities will be carried out with the man, after which he will be taken to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra.
