Last weekend, an accident occurred in the Gromadka municipality, as a result of which a cyclist was injured. KPP Bolesławiec: “The incident occurred at noon on a county road. Preliminary findings indicate that a 24-year-old man riding a bicycle ignored a STOP sign and entered the tracks, where he was hit by a train. The cyclist was taken to hospital. Police officers are currently investigating the circumstances of the accident.
Police remind:
A railway crossing, regardless of whether it is guarded or not, is a place where every road user must exercise particular caution.
And appeal:
- Follow the signs marking the railway crossing, including the B-20 “STOP” sign.
- Never enter a crossing—even when the barriers are lowered, if they have begun to descend, or when there is no room on the other side to continue driving.
- These are offenses, but above all, such behavior can prove to be a deadly trap.
