On Sunday, the second round of the Polish MotoGymkhanaGP Championship took place at the grounds of the 2xTAK Training Centre in Bolesławiec. Twenty-six competitors took part, including riders from Kraków, Chorzów, Wrocław, Szczecin, Gorzów, Warsaw and the Czech Republic.

This was the second MotoGymkhana GP event organised in Bolesławiec by the 2xTAK Training Centre.

“Through events like these, we want to invite motorcyclists from Bolesławiec and the surrounding area to enjoy this form of entertainment and hone their skills,” says the centre’s owner, Paweł Jasiński. “We train motorcyclists on a daily basis, so we realise how important it is to practise riding skills on your own motorcycle. That is why we also want to organise gymkhana-style training every Friday. Many congratulations to our fellow resident of Bolesławiec, Radosław Simończyk, who made his debut in this year’s event alongside Paweł Jasiński,” the owner adds.

What is Gymkhana?

It is a sport that combines precision riding with completing a set course as quickly as possible. The route is marked by red and blue cones, which must be passed on the appropriate side. At first glance, this type of training is immediately associated with manoeuvres performed during driving lessons; in reality, however, that is a major simplification. The course marked out by the cones is considerably longer and more difficult. In addition to memorising the route, riders must plan how to negotiate U-turns and bends so as to make the next manoeuvre easier. This requires a feel for the motorcycle and excellent control over it. As a result, gymkhana training is excellent preparation for riding on public roads. It is also valuable experience for people who would like to race on a track in the future, because habits developed on the practice area pay off during fast riding.
