At exactly 5:00 p.m., the time the uprising broke out, sirens sounded throughout Bolesławiec, and ceremonies commemorating the Warsaw Uprising began on Kubika Street. The uprising participants fought the German occupier for a free Poland.

The Bolesławiec ceremonies were attended, among others, by local government authorities, scouts, soldiers of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec, Zagłębie Lubin supporters, the municipal orchestra and residents of Bolesławiec.
