The task will be carried out in three stages. Stage I, involving soil preparation, will be completed in autumn 2022. The subsequent stages, concerning the establishment and maintenance of the meadows, will take place in 2023. The planned completion date is October 2023.
Flowering meadows—with a total area of 2.3 hectares—will be established at the following locations:
- Głowackiego Street – the city planty, the boulevard along the Bóbr River, and the area near Murarska Street,
- Tysiąclecia Avenue, Gałczyńskiego Street and Jana Pawła II Street.
The task is being implemented as a partnership project by the Municipality of Bolesławiec, Hrádek nad Nisou in the Czech Republic and the Association for the Cultural Landscape in the Czech Republic. Workshops for children and young people
6 August 2022, as part of the “Flowering Meadows” Cooperation Network project, workshops for children and young people will be held, featuring creative stations for learning about biodiversity, fauna and flora. The activities will be organised during the recurring city event “Swarm of Knowledge,” hosted on the grounds of the Municipal Public Library – Centrum Wiedzy in Bolesławiec, at 5 Głowackiego Street.
The workshops will take place from 12:00 to 18:00.
At the prepared stations, participants will be able, among other things, to make insect hotels themselves, test their knowledge in a nature-themed wheel of fortune, and compose their own blend of spices and herbs.
